(I) International New Students (First semester):

1. Application Form .

2. Research Proposal.

3. Proof of outstanding performance (such as publications, participation in NSTC projects, awards, extracurricular activities, etc.) and other documents that may assist in the review process. (No submission is okay if no documents are available.)

4. Publicatons (Please fill in the excel file and submit the electronic file by email. hchsu623@mail.nsysu.edu.tw)

Note: If you have published articles, please be sure to list all authors and indicate the corresponding author.

(II) Current Students + Elite Scholarship (Second-Sixth Semester):

1. Application Form.

2. Full transcripts.

3. A research proposal.

4. Proof of outstanding performance (such as publications, participation in NSTC projects, awards, extracurricular activities, etc.) and other documents that may assist in the review process. (No submission is okay if no documents are available.)

5. Publicaitons (Please fill in the excel file and submit the electronic file by email. hchsu623@mail.nsysu.edu.tw)

6. For international students in their 5 or 6 semester, it’s required to fill in the this part with the NSTC funding code from your advisor. Those who do not fill in this part will not be eligible to apply for the scholarship.

7. For students with a GPA below 3.5, the advisor must provide a detailed explanation in the Recommended reason section of the application form stating the reasons for still recommending the student for scholarship renewal.

8. Students who have completed their coursework and are unable to provide academic grades for the previous semester must attach an Explanation for course exemption Form.

(III) Current Students + NSTC Scholarship (Second-Sixth Semester):

1. Full transcripts.

        2. Academic and Research Performance Report.

        3. For students with a GPA below 3.5, must provide a detailed explanation signed by the advisor stating the reasons for still recommending the student for scholarship renewal.

        4. Students who have completed their coursework and are unable to provide academic grades for the previous semester must attach an Explanation for course exemption Form.

(IV) Current Students (Seventh-Eighth Semester):

**Eligibility may be extended up to the eighth semester if the following application condition is met: The applicant must publish a paper as the first author with NSYSU as the first-listed affiliation in an SCIE, SSCI, or AHCI indexed journal, and the journal must rank in the top 25% of its academic field according to the Journal Impact Factor (JIF) or JCI in the JCR database. (Applicable publication period: 2023–2025)**

(1) The full text of the published paper or the journal's official acceptance letter.

(2) Proof of the journal's ranking for the year 2025.

                  3. It’s required to fill in this part with the NSTC funding code from your advisor. Those who do not fill in this part will not be eligible to apply for the scholarship.

**Important Notes**

• Scholarship suspension and cancellation:

1. The scholarship shall be suspended during the period when students attend an exchange program or conduct overseas research. The term of the scholarship shall not be extended regardless of the said overseas activities.
2. Scholarship recipients shall not be absent from the campus for longer than one month (except during the summer and winter breaks). The monthly payment to students violating the said presence requirement shall be suspended during the month of absence. Suspension that lasts for two consecutive months shall result in the cancellation of the scholarship.
3. Scholarship recipients, applying for suspension of studies, being dismissed or disqualified as doctoral students through resolution of a relevant meeting of their unit, shall be disqualified from receiving the scholarship starting from the following month. The scholarship shall not be reinstated.
4. If the recipients violate the University regulations and are issued an official warning or receive a disciplinary action, the scholarship shall be cancelled effectively from the following month after the disciplinary action is imposed.
5. Scholarship recipients arriving on campus after the first day of class shall not receive the payment for September in the Fall semester or February in the Spring semester. Likewise, those who arrive after October 15th shall not receive the payment for October.
6. For the recipients who work full-time either on or off campus, hold an ARC indicating work as the reason for residence or hold an APRC, their scholarships shall be cancelled. Once the above situation is confirmed, any previous monthly payments shall be returned in full.
7. Students who are granted governmental scholarships for international students shall not be eligible for the University scholarships stipulated in these regulations. Once the above situation is confirmed, all previous monthly payments shall be returned in full.

• After completing registration, if a scholarship recipient is absent from campus for more than one month during the scholarship period, excluding winter and summer vacations, their scholarship will be suspended for the months of absence upon verification. If they are absent for two consecutive months, their scholarship eligibility will be revoked.
• If a scholarship recipient's academic performance is deemed unsatisfactory during the scholarship period by the department or faculty, and the decision is made at a relevant departmental meeting, their scholarship eligibility may be revoked.
• Interested applicants who meet the requirements must carefully read the scholarship guidelines and complete the application form. Email will be the primary channel for notification, so please keep an eye on your email address.
